From October 14th to 18th, the EFA El Soto Vocational Training Centre in Granada, Spain, hosted the Learning Training Teacher Activities (LTTA) event for the European EcoJobs project. This event brought together 12 dedicated teachers from Spain, Greece, Italy, and Germany, all united by a common goal: to enhance vocational training with a focus on sustainability and eco-friendly professions.
During the week, participants immersed themselves in a series of activities centred on “eco-jobs”—various professional profiles that contribute to environmental sustainability. These job profiles were researched and developed before the event and served as a foundation for discussions and hands-on learning sessions.
A significant part of the programme also focused on developing essential “soft skills.” Teachers took part in coaching and mentoring exercises designed to empower students with communication, adaptability, teamwork, and many other skills, preparing them to meet the demands of a constantly evolving job market. Practical sessions offered tools and strategies to help students develop resilience, creativity, and adaptability—key competencies for future professionals navigating the growing field of eco-conscious careers.
Time was dedicated to a variety of creative activities that, in addition to being educational, proved to be highly entertaining for all participants, fostering mutual understanding and promoting smoother group collaboration. Among the activities, participants had the chance to introduce themselves, share their hobbies, or express their emotional state and level of presence in their daily lives, which helped to build stronger connections between them. Other activities, such as the “Tree of Self-Knowledge” or the “Circle of Life,” provided opportunities to delve deeper into personal self-awareness.
On the other hand, the activities focused on the various EcoJobs profiles were based on creative and dynamic pedagogy, encouraging the use of creativity and improvisation, as seen in the “Jobseco Story” game. Problem-solving skills and teamwork were also addressed, as demonstrated in the “Lost on the Island” activity, which allowed participants to collaborate in an active and creative way.
This international collaboration represents an important step forward in vocational education, aligning European training practices to produce skilled professionals ready to tackle the environmental challenges of tomorrow. The EcoJobs project is committed to fostering partnerships that contribute to a greener, more sustainable future for Europe.
Thank you to all participants for their dedication to education and promoting sustainability!
