Empowering Future Green Professionals: EcoJobs at EFA El Soto

As sustainability becomes essential across all sectors, vocational education is key to preparing professionals ready to face environmental challenges. In this context, EFA El Soto has joined the Erasmus+ project EcoJobs, alongside other VET centers and companies from Spain, Germany, Italy, and Greece, with the goal of designing and promoting ten new green job profiles aligned with the values of the New European Bauhaus.

Between March and April 2025, EFA El Soto organized a series of dynamic training sessions for 40 students, aimed at introducing the EcoJobs initiative and its main goals. Students explored the project’s European scope, the ten green professional profiles developed in collaboration with companies, and the educational resources available on the EcoJobs platform. They worked with real-life learning scenarios, analyzing challenges faced by future green professionals. The sessions combined group discussions, multimedia tools, and reflection activities, fostering active engagement and a collaborative learning environment.

Key outcomes included increased awareness of how sustainability intersects with diverse career paths, encouragement for students to reflect on their own professional goals, and improved digital skills related to online platforms and green career resources.

A highlight of the training was the selection of 10 students to participate in an international exchange in Berlin, where they will take part in workshops and collaborate with peers from partner countries. This opportunity promotes not only professional growth but also cultural exchange and a broader understanding of sustainability in Europe.

Looking ahead, EFA El Soto is working to integrate EcoJobs materials into its curriculum, ensuring all students benefit from this forward-thinking initiative. As one student put it:

“Learning about green professions made me realize that sustainability isn’t just a lifestyle—it’s a future career path.”
